Kash Patel alleged to have drinking problem in bombshell Atlantic exposé
FBI Director Kash Patel is vehemently denying explosive new allegations — and threatening legal action over them.
A new report from The Atlantic paints a troubling picture of the man leading one of the most powerful law enforcement agencies in the world, alleging excessive drinking, erratic behavior and even periods where he was simply unreachable on the job.
Patel is firing back hard.
In a post on X, he wrote: “See you and your entire entourage of false reporting in court,” calling the story a “legal layup.” His team is also calling the reporting “fabricated” and says a lawsuit is already in motion.
But the journalist behind the piece, Sarah Fitzpatrick, isn’t backing down either.
“I am a very careful, very diligent, award-winning investigative reporter across multiple organizations. … I stand by every word of this reporting. We have excellent attorneys, and it is a surprising statement but a very telling statement. I’ll also note, we reached out for comment from the White House and from the Justice Department, neither of which disputed any of it. We gave them multiple opportunities.”
