The Trump administration on Tuesday announced new sanctions against all of Iran’s airlines and nearly a dozen foreign companies doing business with Iran’s Mahan Air, which had earlier been sanctioned for its ties to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
The sanctions are part of Operation Economic Outcast, a financial pressure campaign that the administration launched last month as the military front of the more than six-month war stalled out.
The newest sanctions target 27 Iranian airlines and nine entities, cargo service providers and general sales agents that the Treasury Department said the IRGC has used to obtain American aircraft or other U.S.-origin aviation materials.
This includes sanctioning several firms based in Turkey and the United Arab Emirates for helping Mahan Air secure at least........
