US staff, press ditch Chinese credentials before departing Beijing

U.S. staff and the traveling press ditched of all materials handed out by the Chinese during President Trump’s trip to Beijing before departing on Air Force One on Friday. 

According to the White House press pool, U.S. staff took every item Chinese officials handed out, including press credentials, burner phones from White House staff and delegation pins, and threw them in a bin at the bottom of the stairs before reporters boarded Air Force One. 

While the visit between Trump and Xi remained friendly on camera, behind the scenes, Chinese and American press and security clashed while trying to cover the high-stakes summit.

At one point, a U.S. Secret Service agent accompanying the U.S. press pool was blocked from entering Beijing’s Temple of Heaven during........
