Trump administration accuses Harvard of failing to protect Jewish students in latest lawsuit

The Trump administration filed a lawsuit against Harvard University on Friday for failing to protect Jewish students since the Israel-Gaza War broke out more than two years ago. 

“Since October 7th, 2023, too many of our educational institutions have allowed anti-Semitism to flourish on campus — Harvard included,” Attorney General Pamela Bondi said in a Justice Department statement on Friday. “Today’s litigation underscores the Trump Administration’s commitment to demanding better from our nation’s schools and putting an end to discriminatory behavior that harms students.”

The lawsuit, filed in Federal District Court in Boston, alleged a “hostile education environment” in which Jewish and Israeli students at Harvard have been physically assaulted, harassed, stalked and spat upon. Safety concerns have prompted some students to wear baseball caps to conceal yarmulkes — a traditional, religiously significant cap mostly worn by men, the filing said. 

The lawsuit is the Trump administration’s latest strike in an ongoing battle between the Trump administration and Harvard. The university sued the administration last year for blocking millions in federal funding it relies on for research. A judge ruled in........
