Duffy’s wife knocks Trump’s Venezuela policy: ‘We’re getting a little too cozy’

Fox News host Rachel Campos-Duffy, who is also the wife of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, criticized President Trump for getting “too cozy” with acting Venezuelan President Delcy Rodríguez, calling the leader a “communist.”  

“We’re getting a little too cozy with Delcy Rodríguez. This is a hardcore communist. She can never be trusted,” Campos-Duffy said Friday on Fox News. “She is detested by the Venezuelan people.”

“María Corina will win that election,” she added, referring to Venezuela’s opposition leader María Corina Machado.

Rodríguez became acting president of the South American nation after the U.S. captured and arrested ex-leader Nicolás Maduro and his wife last month, who both pleaded not guilty to drug-trafficking and weapons-related charges. 

Earlier this month, Rodríguez drew criticism for saying that Maduro was still the rightful leader of Venezuela. But Trump responded that the two “have a great relationship” and that “politically, maybe she has to say that.”
