Iran: New proposal includes reparations for war damage, US troop withdrawal
Iran wants an end to all hostilities against it and its proxy group in Lebanon, U.S. forces to withdraw from areas near Iran and reparations for damage caused by the U.S.-Israeli war on the regime, according to Tehran’s latest peace proposal.
Tehran also wants lifted sanctions and the release of frozen funds, as well as an end to the U.S. blockade on the country via the Strait of Hormuz, state media IRNA news agency reported on Tuesday.
The demands mark Tehran’s first public comments on its latest peace proposal, which does not appear much changed from an offer President Trump rejected last week, Reuters reported.
The revised proposal, which Pakistan reportedly shared with the U.S. as recently as this week, coincides with Trump on Monday declaring he would hold off on planned resumed attacks on Iran.........
