Indiana Secretary of State partners with Turning Point USA for voter registration initiative

INDIANAPOLIS (WXIN) — Officials with the office of Indiana Secretary of State Diego Morales announced that it will launch a statewide voter registration partnership with Turning Point USA, the nonprofit organization founded by the late Charlie Kirk.

According to a news release from Morales’s office, the statewide voter registration and poll worker recruitment initiative will be held in conjunction with Club America, a group with chapters across the United States. Club America is powered by Turning Point USA, a nonprofit that aims to “identify, educate, train and organize students to promote the principles of fiscal responsibility, free markets and limited government,” according to its website.

Officials said that the Club America chapters help spread Turning Point USA’s movement into high schools across the country, with its website stating that the group is becoming the “leading youth movement for freedom-loving American values.”

The release said that the effort with the state of Indiana is aimed at increasing voter registration and strengthening poll worker recruitment efforts.

The Indiana Secretary of State’s office will collaborate with Club America to host voter registration drives on high school campuses and provide students with election information. A “Hoosier Hall Pass” program will also allow eligible students to work the polls.

“As Indiana’s Chief Election Officer, my priority is ensuring every eligible Hoosier has the opportunity to register to vote and participate in our elections,” Morales said in the release. “I’m excited to partner with Club America on this initiative, allowing us to meet young voters where they are and empower them with the tools and resources they need to engage in the civic process. Young Hoosiers are the future of our state. By engaging students early and providing hands-on opportunities to participate and serve, we are building the next generation of informed voters and leaders.”

Schools and Turning Point USA chapters interested in hosting a voter registration drive or learning more about poll worker opportunities are encouraged to contact the Indiana Secretary of State’s office. Click here for more information.
