Platner’s wife calls coverage of husband’s sexting with women ‘shameful’
Amy Gertner, the wife of Maine Senate Democratic candidate Graham Platner, is calling coverage of her husband’s reported past sexting with multiple women “shameful,” arguing in a video that it is “gossip” that takes attention away from serious issues.
“If anybody knows me and Graham personally, you know that we got married in 2023. We live in Sullivan. We’ve got two dogs, and we love each other deeply,” Gertner said in a video message posted over the weekend on Platner’s X platform.
“So it makes me really angry, disappointed, and I find it really shameful that there’s a group of media outlets and people who are willing to spread gossip instead of talking about real issues that Graham is running on, like healthcare and education and child care,” she said.
Platner is the presumptive Democratic nominee to take on Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) in a race Democrats likely have to win to win back the Senate majority.
