Public outrage in Britain is rising after the release of harrowing police bodycam footage in the stabbing and subsequent arrest of Henry Nowak, an 18-year-old university student who was killed December 3, 2025 in Southampton, England, by a 23-year-old Sikh man named Vickrum Digwa.
The circumstances of Nowak’s murder almost defy belief. On their own, they would be enough to send Britain into a spiral of race riots and civil unrest — if Nowak had not been white, and if his killer had not been Indian. As it is, the murder of Henry Nowak will probably not trigger the kind of rioting that George Floyd’s death did in the United States. But it does perfectly illustrate the logic of Black Lives Matter: racial minorities are to be believed and preferred, white people are not — even in cases where whites are the victims of violent crimes.
Digwa stabbed Nowak five times with an 8-inch Sikh ceremonial blade, which is illegal for anyone but Sikhs to carry in Britain, including a fatal stab to the chest, as Nowak was walking home from a night out with his English football team. Instead of calling an ambulance, Digwa called the police while his mother helped him hide the murder weapon.
