Watch As College Kids Fail Basic American Civics Test: Knowing Your Mascots

If you already thought college campuses were bad enough, wait until you watch a video of students trying to guess the country’s most famous mascots.
Practically every American knows every college mascot, whether it’s an ACC, SEC, Big 10 school, etc. You don’t even have to have gone to the school in question to know its mascot. You don’t even need a college degree. Real Americans can recognize a college team mascot instantly. Unsurprisingly, some college kids are utterly clueless and failed this basic civics test.

This is just absurd. I get that not everyone is a massive college sports fan. I’m not even a huge college sports fan myself. But I know every single mascot by heart, and I don’t even know why. I just do, because I’m American.

The future of this country may not be so bright. Kids cannot even correctly identify the Penn State Nittany Lion, the Iowa Hawkeye, or the Virginia Tech Hokie. Do they even care about this country? Do they even care about the U.S. Constitution?
The video might seem trivial, but these are important questions.
