I have a theory that if you asked the average male Democratic politician to throw a tight spiral, they would flick their wrist and let the ball loop out of their hand like a girl.

Not because they are liberals (maybe that has something to do with it), but the Democratic Party tends to attract more academically focused people who excelled in school, not sports. The people who become Rhodes Scholars. The front-row students. Generally, those people tend not to be great athletes. But you can probably think of a dozen exceptions to this, like Jasmine Crockett, the entire “Squad,” or even Rep. Eric Swalwell.

Swalwell, who is running for California governor, released an ad Sunday in which he shows off for a child influencer by throwing a football … impromptu? Swalwell doesn’t strike me as a front-row kid. However, I was still shocked by his ability to chuck a pigskin.
