Every year, the Masters golf tournament reminds us all of the days when the loose change in your pocket could actually buy you a decent meal and a cup of coffee.

Despite the exorbitant ticket prices just to get into the tournament, once you are in, you have the run of the gamut with low-priced snacks, sandwiches, and beers. It is absolutely glorious just to even think about. Try finding a club sandwich for 3 bucks, or a pimento for $1.50. (RELATED: Masters Lays Bare The Awkward Truth About Capitalism)

You’d be hard pressed finding a better and cheaper menu at such a high-profile sporting event.

And again, it is not lost on me that the price of actual tickets to get into the Masters is obscenely high. You can’t even buy a ticket unless you enter a lottery and win. The merchandise is also extremely expensive. So, if you are looking to attend a major, your best bet is the U.S. Open or PGA Championship, where ticket prices are far more reasonable.

Nevertheless, the concession prices are a stinging reminder that everything in America has gotten so damn expensive thanks, in part, to Biden years inflation, the COVID-19 price shock, the costs of fighting a war of choice in the Middle East in the second Trump administration, etc.

This is a real throwback, and every year, people say the same things. It’s like a time portal back to an older America.
