Meghan Trainor Mocked Ruthlessly For Canceling Tour To Be With Family

Meghan Trainor chose to prioritize her young children and cancel her upcoming tour — but the decision quickly drew harsh backlash online.

The pop singer shared a message in an Instagram stories April 16 apologizing to fans for the sudden change. The “Get in Girl Tour” was scheduled to begin June 12 in Michigan, according to People.

“After a lot of reflection and some really tough conversations, I’ve made the difficult decision to cancel The Get In Girl Tour,” she wrote.

“Balancing the release of a new album, preparing for a nationwide tour, and welcoming our new baby girl to our growing family of five has just been more than I can take on right now, and I need to be home and present for each and all of them at this time.”

“I know this will come as a disappointment to my fans, and I am so sorry to let you down,” Trainor said, before promising she plans to return to the stage as soon as she’s able.

Some social media users lashed out by mocking the star, despite the honorable reason she had to pull the plug on her show. Some lashed out at Trainor, accusing her of not being able to sell enough tickets to warrant the tour.

“Girl, just say ticket sales were rough. Own it,” one person wrote on X.

“The tickets weren’t selling and she wants to use her children as cover for her poor ticket sales. No excuses! Cardi B [sic] is on a sold [sic] out world tour with 4 babies on her hips, and she’s a single mother. Just tell the truth,” another internet user said.

“Wow, imagine how hard it would have been if she had actually given birth to the baby girl. Celebrities make me sick,” they wrote.

Another individual commented, “I’m sure the 7 people who brought tickets will be upset.”

Trainer greeted her third kid through surrogacy with her husband, Daryl Sabara, in January, according to Variety. The singer hasn’t responded to the backlash.
