A pure gem, and more than that.

NBA history was made Tuesday night by Miami Heat star center Bam Adebayo.

The big-man tallied 83 points, while also setting the league record for both made and attempted free throws during a game for Miami as they beat the Washington Wizards, 150-129. For a player, it’s the second-most points scored in a game, placed only behind the legendary Wilt Chamberlain and his famous 100-point contest. “An absolutely surreal night,” said Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra to the media following the game.

Adebayo got things started with 31 points in the first quarter, and at halftime, he bumped that number up to 43. When the third quarter hit 0:00 on the clock, he had 62. In the fourth quarter, we had milestone after milestone falling, and this while Bam was being guarded by two, three and sometimes four players from the Wizards that had him shooting free throws consistently.

From the field, Adebayo shot 20-of-43, while at the free throw line, he was 36-of-43. From three-point range, he put up a 7-for-22 figure.

I’m not gonna lie, I’m pretty gutted that I missed this as a Miami Heat fan. I was watching coverage of the tornado outbreak, so I had no idea that any of this was going on.

Run it back, Bam. I need to see this with my own eyes.
