A doctor told me I was heading towards type 2 diabetes. She said my lifestyle was way too sedentary and I should try exercising during my lunch break.

I’ve been doing that for about a year with positive results. In the last few months I’ve started going on short runs while at work. I enjoy it and I see the benefits, but I return as pink as anything. I can shower and cool down, but it seems I need a long time to get back to a ‘normal’ colour.

My manager, who’s been a great support, has told me I’m scaring colleagues and clients. He’s only half joking. Should I stop for my career at the expense of my health?
