If you think psychometric testing sounds like a scary prospect, you’re probably not alone.

While one-on-one interviews give us a sense of control over our potential success, some recruitment processes take us out of our comfort zone when assessing whether we’re right for the job.

Psychometric tests offer employers insight into how we think and behave in certain situations — drilling down into things like our personality, decision-making skills, motivation and emotional intelligence. Despite becoming more common during the recruitment process, psychometric tests carry an air of mystery, with many jobseekers thinking they’re impossible to prepare for.
