Trade war hits laptops

4 1 0

Huawei has postponed the launch of its new MateBook laptop. The news is the direct result of the ongoing sanctions it faces amid the US and China trade war.

CES Asia 2019 was supposed to be the host of Huawei's new laptop. And while the specs of the new laptop remain unconfirmed, it's likely that the new MateBook would have featured Intel processors and run a Windows operating system.

Which suggests that these American-based technologies are the sole reason Huawei has pulled the plug on its high-end laptop launch.
