SNC-Lavalin should get deferred prosecution deal

Re: SNC-Lavalin scandal has global anti-bribery watchdog warning Canada, March 12

Just a few thoughts on the SNC-Lavalin situation. Obviously from the prime minister's actions he is concerned about jobs and votes.

However, I do think the company should be given a deferred prosecution agreement and my reason for that is the company has changed substantially in the last four years. New management, new board of directors and many of the offenders have been charged already.

The barn door is open and the horse is long gone. We should give new management an opportunity to prove they have changed the culture without putting handcuffs on them by not being able to bid on any Canadian government work for 10 years if they get a conviction against them.

I think the director of public prosecutions and former attorney general got this wrong. I don't think the company should get........
