New bus routes and cheaper fares could be on the way, amid accusations that Welsh Labour 'cannot be trusted to expand the bus network' according to the Welsh Conservatives.

Welsh Labour has pledged to introduce more than 100 new bus routes and cap all single bus fares at £2 if it wins the 2026 Senedd election, with plans to prioritise connections to jobs and essential services.

Transport secretary Ken Skates announced the proposals during a visit to the Wrexham bus interchange and said the plans would help connect people to work, hospitals and public transport hubs.

Mr Skates said: "Through our landmark Bus Services Bill, we are ending the era of fragmented services forced on Wales by the Tories deregulating the bus network.

"From now on in Wales, buses will be run for people, not just for profit.

"These changes are about making our transport system fairer.........
