A by-election has been triggered following the death of a serving councillor.

The Van ward seat on Caerphilly County Borough Council became vacant after the death of Labour councillor Christine Forehead last year. A date for the election has not yet been set.

Plaid Cymru has selected Caerphilly-born campaigner and former town councillor Jeff Grenfell as its candidate.
