'Much-loved' TV show axed by BBC 4 years ago returns this weekend - what to expect
A new-look Mock the Week is set to return to TV screens this weekend after being axed by the BBC back in 2022.
Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) channel TLC launched on Freeview earlier this month, giving viewers a range of new programmes to watch, including The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, and 90 Day Fiancé.
TLC is also set to include brand-new episodes of the UK's "much-loved topical, satirical celebrity panel show" - Mock the Week, hosted by Dara Ó'Briain.
The programme used to air on the BBC until it was scrapped in 2022.
The show sees special guests join Ó'Briain as they humorously review the previous week's news.
Regular guests on the show in the past have included Russell Howard, Ed Byrne, Hugh Dennis, Ed Gamble, and Angela Barnes.
Mock the Week, hosted by Dara Ó'Briain, was axed by the BBC back in 2022.
When the satirical panel show Mock the Week was cancelled by the BBC in 2022, Ó Briain ensured it had a proper send-off, with the panel ending the series in tuxedos.
After a 17-year run, the Irish comedian and presenter said he was satisfied with the show’s farewell victory lap.
However, following strong audience demand, Mock the Week is returning with a brand-new nine-episode series on TLC, with Ó Briain once again at the helm.
