Hundreds of people in the UK are experiencing problems listening to music and podcasts this morning due to the Spotify app not opening.

Reports of the Spotify app being down have been made to online service DownDetector, which shows more than 300 problems.

Of the complaints, 94 per cent are about issues with the Spotify app, while five per cent of people are having problems with audio streaming, and one per cent are struggling with Spotify's website.

Many Spotify users have taken to X, formerly Twitter, to share that they are facing problems with the music streaming service.

One user said: "Is Spotify down for anyone else?? Like I cannot open the app."

Another responded: "I have the same problem".
