A 14-year-old has written and recorded a charity Christmas single.

Dante Valaydon-Pillay, a year 9 student from Gwent and former Pride of Gwent winner, released the song Give a Little Christmas in support of BBC Children in Need.

The teen wrote, composed, and recorded the track himself, performing both piano and vocals.

On why he chooses to raise money for Children In Need, Dante said: "When I was nearly six, my mum became seriously ill after a routine operation.

"It was a scary time, but I was lucky — my family looked after me.
