A Monmouthshire school has been named the overall winner of a national poetry competition.

Chepstow School took home the top prize in the Young Writers’ Empowered poetry competition, earning a £1,000 award, a trophy, and the honour of seeing more than 100 learners have their poems published in the ‘Empowered’ anthology.

The contest invited students from across the UK to write poems about topics that mattered to them.
