Children are being encouraged to create short films in a new competition.

The national filmmaking challenge has been launched by the Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts (PQA), giving young people in South Wales and across the UK the chance to win a year-long scholarship in comedy, drama, musical theatre, TV, and filmmaking.

The PQA has an academy in Newport.
