An EastEnders icon could be returning for the show's Christmas special later this year, as fans are convinced they've spotted them filming.

Sam Mitchell, who is played by Kim Medcalf, has appeared for several stints on the BBC soap since 1990, having first been portrayed by Danniella Westbrook.

The character last featured in January 2024 as she left to go and chase her fortune abroad after being disowned by her brother Phil.

However, fans believe she may be returning for the 2025 Christmas special, thanks to some drone footage of the set.
