That opening salvo was enough to make Wellington go viral, attracting numerous other parents who’ve alienated their own kids. Wellington has accrued such a large following that the Wall Street Journal saw fit to make her the focal point of a “spurned parents are fighting back!” trend piece that published on Saturday. As others have noted, that WSJ profile never actually investigated WHY Wellington and her daughter are estranged. In fact, Wellington professes that she herself doesn’t know why they’re estranged.
