SpaceX, Musk win apology from California officials over rocket launch dispute

A lawsuit filed by Elon Musk’s SpaceX against the California Coastal Commission was settled in California court this week after more than a year and a half of litigation.

In court documents, the Coastal Commission apologized to Musk and SpaceX for statements made during a 2024 meeting. In the documents, the commission admitted the statements concerning the potential increase of SpaceX rocket launches at Vandenberg Space Force Base “showed political bias against SpaceX and its Chief Executive Officer and were improper.”
