Another travel delay on I-80 creates pain point on route to Tahoe

Caltrans plans to close multiple lanes and on- and off-ramps in Contra Costa County, California, to complete a project on I-80.

Bay Area drivers on the Eastshore Freeway in Contra Costa County should prepare for another pain point on Interstate 80.

Caltrans has planned overnight maintenance between Buchanan Street in Albany and Highway 4 in Hercules through February, it announced Thursday. As part of the $85 million project, Caltrans plans to install traffic signs and electrical conduits, replace traffic loops and do graffiti cleanup during the latest rounds of construction.

Drivers headed in either direction on Interstate 80 should expect multiple lane and on-ramp and off-ramp closures on the freeway overnight, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. during the work week, and shoulder closures during the daytime, Caltrans said. The........
