To find great breakfast burritos in San Francisco, you need to keep your ear to the ground and sometimes have a little luck. So when my bartender friend, who has been in the service industry for 10 years and lives to eat great food, randomly told me a story about her favorite breakfast burrito, my ears perked up.
“You’ll never guess where my favorite is,” she told me that fateful night.
So where is this breakfast burrito that I had never heard of? A golf course, which I never would have guessed in a million years.

Presidio Golf Course was built in 1896, which makes it the oldest golf course west of the Mississippi River. The public course is also home to Ironwoods Bar & Grill. Located inside the clubhouse building at 300 Finley Road, the restaurant offers a full bar and American food, but everything has “a little more San Francisco” to it, according to chef John Dirks, who is known for his Mohawk hairstyle. Think habanero chicken wings with a crunch thanks to a smattering of cornflakes on top or tempura-fried green beans with a chipotle-ranch dipping sauce.

And then there’s the breakfast burrito, dubbed the “Brekkie,” which is so popular that Dirks made it an all-day menu item.
“It’s funny — the kitchen was kind of against it,” he said. “But the people kept asking for........
