Costco is known for its stellar wine program, which includes one of the best wines in the world. It currently sells a 49ers-branded red wine that comes not from California, where you would expect, but from arguably the most ironic place in the world for a 49ers-branded wine: Kansas City, Missouri.
Some basic wine stats here: California is the fourth-largest wine producer in the world, and the largest in the United States, producing around 80% of the country’s wine, according to the Wine Institute.
