Atherton, home to famous residents like NBA star Steph Curry and former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, has long reigned as the nation’s most expensive ZIP code. But after eight years of dominance, the small, wealthy Bay Area enclave has finally been dethroned.

Fisher Island, Florida, took the top spot on this year’s recently released list of most expensive ZIP codes in the nation, according to PropertyShark. The island, accessible only by a ferry or private boat with pre-approved clearance, off the coast of Miami (ZIP code 33109) had a 2025 median home sale price of $9.5 million, beating out Atherton’s 2025 median price of $8.3 million.........
