Regions across the Bay Area are experiencing significant flooding as a result of both recent rain events and record-breaking king tides Saturday afternoon.
Flooding has been reported in coastal areas across Marin County, Sonoma County, Alameda County, San Mateo County and San Francisco as a result of this weekend’s king tide event, according to Rachel Kennedy, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service’s Monterey office. Additionally, heavy rain has caused flooding along creeks in interior portions of Sonoma and Marin counties, including Mark West Creek, Colgan Creek and Santa Rosa Creek.
