'It's not going to last': Bay Area gets window of prep time before storm hits

Experts are warning Bay Area residents to get any last-minute holiday preparations and travel finished on Tuesday before a strong storm arrives in the evening, bringing days of rain and high winds. 

Dylan Flynn, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service, told SFGATE that the strong storm will pick up on Tuesday evening, increasing the risk of downed trees. The region could see a bomb cyclone, where pressure drops rapidly within 24 hours, but the weather service is focused on other aspects of the storm system, Flynn said.

“The important part here is how close this system is going to be to the coast, and then the strong pressure gradient,” he said, which are unrelated to whether the storm is a bomb cyclone. “Whether it is........
