Exceedingly high levels of E.coli found in California lake

Fresno County's Avocado Lake had exceedingly high levels of E.Coli for the fourth time in 2024, data shows.

Avocado Lake is the perfect destination to take the whole family and make a splash, according to Fresno County’s tourism department. However, local public health officials recently advised against it after discovering exceedingly high levels of E.coli in its murky blue waters.

When members of the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board collected samples last week, they recorded an E.coli concentration of 1,553.1 MPN/100mL — well the water board's recommended safety threshold of 320 MPN/100........
