A space that once housed a historic San Francisco dive bar might be resurrected
Known for its crimson red exterior, free popcorn and punk atmosphere, the original Lucky 13 opened in 1994 and closed in winter 2020.
Signs of life are returning to the vacant space on 2140 Market St. that once housed Lucky 13, a legendary San Francisco dive bar that shuttered during the pandemic.
According to the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, a business called Silver Apple LLC applied for a Type 42 license at the property, which would allow operators to sell wine and beer. ABC representatives told SFGATE that because the application is still pending, the department is unable to release more information.
