After 56 years of serving seafood on the Embarcadero, San Francisco’s Waterfront Restaurant closed on New Year’s Eve, as first reported by the San Francisco Chronicle (the Chronicle and SFGATE are both owned by Hearst but have separate newsrooms). Port of San Francisco spokesperson Eric Young confirmed the news to SFGATE. 

“The restaurant was on a month-to-month agreement with the Port after its lease expired in December 2024,” Young said in an email. “Port staff are currently assessing the building........
