Carla Beck and the NDP came oh, so close … yet somehow they remain oh, so far from governing Saskatchewan.
It’s hard to imagine how the NDP will do better, give that the resource-rich, farm-based half of the province still doesn’t much trust them.
Sure, the NDP campaign might have appeared to be within a cat’s whisker of a rather unbelievable upset.
If a mere 1,676 votes in the four closest Saskatchewan Party city seats had voted NDP instead of Saskatchewan Party, today we would be calling Carla Beck premier-designate.

Had it pulled off a sweep of Moose Jaw and Prince Albert and all of Saskatoon along with its sweep of the north, the NDP would have got the perfect storm it needed to pull off a miracle win.
This was actually pretty close to perfection for the NDP … or perhaps as close........
