Nasty weather not a good way to end - or start - the year

If we’ve learned anything in recent years, it’s to expect the unexpected during the Christmas season – especially when it comes to the weather.

A few years ago, we had a massive dumping of snow the day before Christmas Eve which forced people to adjust any travel plans they may have had. Many couldn’t get out of their driveways, let alone access major arteries or highways. Everything came to a standstill for at least 24 hours. 

Our barely there white Christmas of 2025 morphed into an ice-laden Boxing Day, creating chaotic conditions across southern Ontario. Roads were slick, power outages were........
