Remember the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s? Did you ever think about 2026? Of course not, we never even thought about the 2000s.

Well, here we are in 2026.

Remember the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s? Did you ever think about 2026? Of course not, we never even thought about the 2000s. Yet here we are a lot older and ready to take stock, not only the past year, but our life in general. We tend to do that more and more as we get older.

It’s a time of reflection. Did we contribute or did we withhold? Did we give or just take a bit more? Did we provide or withhold? Did we support or did we turn our back? Did we participate or observe? It’s way too soon to think about all that hard stuff. I will wait until maybe February to work out all that.

What I do know right now is I am here and 2025 was a pretty good year. I am really looking forward to what is available to experience and accomplish in 2026. There will be lots of time for remembering, reminiscing and soul searching later – much later.

I have put new batteries in the smoke and CO alarms and a fresh filter in the furnace. The one thing I didn’t get done........
