So many questions, so few answers

I remember vividly the look on so many faces when I repeatedly asked, “Why?”
My family, especially Mom and Dad, friends, teachers, co-workers, bosses and many others along the way would become frustrated at my need to have everything explained. Mom very quickly resorted to the famed, “Because I said so!” response in a tone that meant enough already.

My queries are most often because the explanation isn’t satisfactory or doesn’t address the actual question.
Frequently, my follow up comments are, “Yeah but, what if” and “Yeah but, what about,” as I valiantly try to get to the base, the bottom, the reality of a decision or maybe valiantly trying to get my point across. You can quickly tell if someone does not understand what you are saying by how they respond.
We all know the what-abouts are........
