The Businesses of West Elgin: West Lorne Leaf

West Lorne Leaf is a recently opened (Dec. 8) business at 238 Graham Rd. in West Lorne, in the location occupied for many years by PJ’s Pizza.

Owners Dillon Mugridge and Colin Musgrave, and their five employees invite residents to come to the store to check out the wide array of products on offer.

roducts/services provided or sold: legal Ontario Cannabis Store products including flower, pre-rolls, edibles, topicals, beverages, vapes and a wide variety of wellness products (bath bombs, bath salts, CBD cream, CBD drops, CBD gummies)

Dillon Mugridge has proudly served his community as a frontline police officer for the last nine years. Colin Musgrave has spent the last seven years in the legal cannabis industry with experience in both retail and cultivation.

Since their opening, there has been lots of positive feedback thus far about the warm and welcoming nature of the store. Returning customers and new customers alike have all advised that the fair pricing and wide selection of products will keep them coming back for more.

Mugridge said the business aims to educate residents so that cannabis can be “understood, respected and responsible enjoyed.”

“We are committed to providing clear, honest and evidence-based information so every customer can make confident, informed decisions,” he said. “Whether you are canna-curious, returning after years away or experienced and exploring new products, we meet you where you are — without pressure, without judgment.

Mugridge said cannabis has been misunderstood for too long and he wants West Lorne Leaf to help “replace outdated perceptions with understanding and respect.”

He said he hopes to “expand on the early successes we’ve experienced” both as a “sustainable business” and through community initiatives like holiday toy drives and food drives.

Many of us have long-held misunderstandings and prejudices against the use of cannabis, which is now totally legal to use in Canada. Come into the store to educate yourself, as the owners recommend.

I, myself, having worked with youth all of my life, and many adult users, have learned a great deal on my visits to the location.

It is wonderful to have another active, committed enterprise in West Lorne’s downtown. For those who suffer long-term pain, it is worthwhile to explore the various applications of CBD oils in managing this pain.

Pop in to the West Lorne Leaf, to see what they’ve done with the location, and to chat with the friendly staff.
