ROBINET: The whirlwind continues
A quick recap for those who may have missed last week’s offering:
Friend Marg and I headed south recently. First stop: St. Louis for a week-long work event and then off to Georgia, Crystal River in Florida for a couple of days and then further south along the gulf to visit our friends there.
The first day we arrived, Marg had arranged for another couple of friends who were already in Florida to meet up with us as yours truly was having yet another birthday!
The next day we had a girls’ day out in Naples, which is always an interesting place to be as it feels like you’re stepping into a scene from Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. There are loads of boutiquey shops that the common folk can ogle, but not buy from, and the downtown area is filled with beautiful buildings and finely manicured gardens.
The next day we set out for a day at the beach, and disappointingly spent the entire morning driving around the Fort Myers area looking for somewhere to park, only to eventually come to the realization that unless you hit the road first thing in the morning, you’re not having a beach day in that area!
As I was driving us around though, I was starting to become mildly concerned about my car, which seemed to be driving a little more roughly than usual.
I began to reflect back upon our arrival in St. Louis when we had hit a pothole just as we arrived.
For some reason,........
