In a recent column, I outlined some of my concerns regarding the proposal to move municipal operations out of the current Civic Centre and into the Downtown Chatham Centre (DCC), and I’m sure I wasn’t the only one with the same questions.
And, thanks to a team effort on the part of several municipal employees, I am happy to present you with a few answers.
When I received an email with this info, I sent a return one: “I assume this info can be used in a future column?” I also asked, “… somewhat related, how can council set a multi-year budget with this large project still up in the air?”
Since that was now four days ago as of this writing and I haven’t heard back, I decided to present the info, which is pretty much public anyway, but leave out the names of those who provided it, which seems like a decent compromise to me.
