Glad to get over allergy to anything purple

I remember when the road from our farm near Port Stanley to my grandparent’s place, now owned by my Uncle Stew, ran through Port Rowan and turned right towards St. Williams.

The corner was marked by a purple chicken on a billboard advertising feed.

Here’s where it gets weird. I have never in my life heard of another person other than myself being allergic to a colour but purple made me vomit. I would also develop grinding headaches after travelling any distance over 10 miles by car. All in all, it must have been a pain in the butt for my parents.

My mother had a friend from school that set up shop in London as a chiropractor at a time when the medical community looked on them as little more than witch doctors.

The medical community was wrong.
