One of the most important parts of my job as a member of Congress is making sure our community gets its fair share of federal resources, and reflecting our district’s priorities on the national stage.
We have so many incredible institutions and projects that help keep us safe, enhance our emergency preparedness, and improve job opportunities.
When it came time to push for local investments in Washington, I made sure to advocate for programs that reflect the messages I hear from residents, first responders, and local leaders every day.
In the end, our team was able to bring home more than $15 million in federal funding to the Santa Clarita Valley, the Antelope Valley and the San Fernando Valley, and I want to walk you through a few of the ones I think will have the most significant impact.
First, we’re sending resources to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Santa Clarita Valley Station, which will go toward a new mobile command center. Anyone who has lived through recent wildfire seasons knows how critical strong coordination is during emergencies.
