Trump takes his crusade against immigrants to an unprecedented level

President Donald Trump, seen walking across the South Lawn of the White House in November, is making immigration and immigrants the focus of his second term in office. 

The gloves are off on President Donald Trump’s anti-immigrant agenda.

During his first term, one of the biggest outrages was over separating families detained at the border. That’s peanuts compared to what’s happening now.

Due process? Now it seems to be arrest, or shoot first, and ask questions later.

The killings of Alex Pretti and Renee Good in Minneapolis this month are among at least six deaths attributed to the recent immigration enforcement surge by the Trump administration. 

The Constitution? Just a piece of old parchment. Immigration agents are going door-to-door and stopping people in the streets, asking them for their papers in search of anyone who doesn’t fit the right-wing ideal of a good, white American.

As shocking as the killings and immigration crackdown in Minneapolis have been, it should come as no surprise. Trump’s scapegoating of immigrants for the country’s problems is not new, and it deflects attention from issues that could be solved to make America greater.

Bashing immigrants and the campaign against DEI — the diversity, equity and inclusion efforts — is part of the right-wing, conservative Project 2025 playbook. The stated rationale is........
