Anthropic's Dario Amodei is urging the AI industry to deliberately slow down

Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei published an essay Saturday calling on AI companies and governments to deliberately slow the pace of AI capabilities development, warning that recursive self-improvement and a recent AI agent incident have made the risks too serious to ignore.

"We must slow the pace at which we improve the capabilities of AI models. Progress will still seem fast, and we must make wise use of the time we gain," Amodei wrote.
