Doing laundry can be a drag — and you don't want your washing machine to make the experience worse.

Consumer Reports created a list of the best front-load washing machines. "Full-sized and compact front-loaders perform best in our comprehensive tests," the publication said. "They tangle clothes less than top-loaders and generally have higher performance scores. But these washers are more prone to mold and mildew if not cleaned and aired out regularly."

All the models that made the list are from LG. Continue reading to see which ones CR recommends.

Price at $2,095, this LG model doesn't come cheap, but it's large, performs really well, and is super efficient. "But it’s not as gentle on clothes as some other machines, and it vibrates somewhat during its long 2-hour wash cycle," Consumer Reports said.

The most affordable option on the list, this LG model starts at $725. It "could save you even more money down the road, thanks to its top-notch water- and energy-efficiency ratings," Consumer Reports wrote.
