It began for me about five years ago. Covid was raging, everyone I knew was isolating, and when the winter holidays arrived, there were no plans for sharing meals, exchanging gifts, or hanging out with friends in front of a crackling fire.
People in my life were shutting down, frightened, and there was a distinct lack of joy and celebration in the air.
And then I got an idea for a way to leave sadness behind, feel connected to others, and visit them in an appropriate way. I asked my husband, Paul, if he was game, and he said yes. So, we got in our car and set out to see the Christmas decorations that people displayed in front of their houses.
